A week at next week

Here is just a quick post to give you a look as to what is happening next week:

Wednesday- Anti-Bullying Day- Wear Pink Shirt Day!
Thursday- Library
               - Kindergarten Info Night at 7 p.m. in the gym
Friday- Progress Reports go home

Here is a picture of the fun we have had with Math this week! Last week the students came home with their valentine addition stories. This week we were working on subtraction stories. Seeings as in Grade 1 we lose alot of teeth, why not do some subtraction stories about losing teeth!

Another short week!

I hope you all had the chance to rest up or enjoy time with your family this weekend! Today coming home with your child should be a demographic sheet. Please review it, make any necessary changes, sign it then return it to me at your earliest convenience.

Daily 5- We have finally implemented our 5th and final element of Daily 5: Word Work. There are 8 different centers for working with our L to J words. I am excited to see the improvement in their spelling upon practicing these words in different ways! You may see different sheets they bring home to show what Word Work they had done that day.

Take Home Reading: The students who were on Monday and today's rotation to pick new books for their book box missed their chance. We will be catching everybody up between tomorrow and Friday. Thanks for your patience!

          - Junior ATB deposit day



Here are a few highlights from last weeks 100th day celebration. A huge thanks to my parents who came to celebrate and help out in our centres!

 
 After many letters, Zéro the Héro finally visited us!

He brought us Fruit Loops so we could make 100 day necklaces!

We grouped what we brought to school in groups of 10!

We made structures using 100 cups!

 

Vive le Carnaval!

Here is to a busy and exciting week!

Wednesday:
7:30- 8:30: Pancake Breakfast...When you arrive please come through your child's entrance and place all their belongings in their locker before preceeding to the gym to eat. We are hoping to avoid congestion in the foyer if we all come in the appropriate entrances.
10:45 a.m.: Opening Ceremonies
1:15- 3:15p.m.: French Canadian Outdoor Activities...Please ensure your child comes dressed prepared for an afternoon outside.

Thursday:
- Scholastics due today
2:15-3:15: Show put on by Roger Dallaire
6:00-8:00p.m.: Annual Family Dance sponsored by the SCC

Friday:
- We get to experience Sleigh Rides today!
- KFC Hot Lunch today!
2:30 p.m.: Closing Ceremonies
