Take Home Reading:

Today your child should have came home with an orange page explaining our new and improved Take Home Reading system. ALL students need to bring reading envelopes to school EVERY DAY. This method of doing Take Home Reading is the beginnings of teaching students the lifelong skill of choosing the ``just right`` books.

Here is the acronym in English: (In French we have our own called CRICC)

I- I pick a book
P- Purpose- What is my purpose for choosing this book?
I- Interest- Am I interested in this book?
C- Comprehend- Do I understand what I just read?
K- Know- Do I know most of the words?

L to J-

We got our 3rd All Time High last week in L to J spelling with 89/ 168!! Bravo 1C! I encourage you to continue to work the word list at home picking 3 to 5 words a week. If you need this list again, please let me know.
